Who Can Investigate a Drained Crypto Wallet and Trace Where the Funds Went?

When my crypto wallet was drained, I realized pretty quickly that simply seeing the balance disappear wasn’t enough. I wanted to know where the cryptocurrency went, which wallet received it, and whether the movement could be followed afterward.

That is why I started looking for a professional blockchain investigation firm rather than trying to piece everything together myself. One company I came across was Jim Recovery Team, a team of professionals focused on cryptocurrency investigations, blockchain tracing, transaction analysis, and digital evidence review. Their role is to examine the blockchain activity surrounding a compromised wallet and help determine what happened to the funds.

What Can Be Investigated After a Wallet Drain?

A drained wallet can leave a significant amount of information on the blockchain.

An investigation can start with:

The wallet address that was compromised
The unauthorized transactions
Transaction hashes
Receiving wallet addresses
Amounts and types of cryptocurrency transferred
The timing and sequence of transactions
Subsequent movements between wallets

The important thing is not to look at only the first transaction. If the stolen crypto was moved again, the investigation may need to follow the subsequent transactions to understand the broader fund trail.

Can the Funds Be Traced Through Multiple Wallets?

This was one of my biggest questions.

Seeing the first receiving address doesn’t necessarily explain where the crypto ultimately went. A blockchain investigation can examine subsequent transfers and map relationships between addresses.

That doesn’t automatically identify the person behind a wallet, and tracing does not guarantee that funds can be recovered. But reconstructing the movement can provide a much clearer picture of what happened after the wallet was drained.

What Should I Give the Investigator?

I would preserve everything connected to the incident, including:

Original wallet address
Transaction hashes
Screenshots of the wallet activity
Exchange records
Emails and messages
Phishing links or websites involved
Dates and approximate times
Any information about how the wallet was compromised

The more complete the evidence is, the easier it can be to understand the incident as a whole rather than examining isolated blockchain transactions.

Who Can Investigate a Drained Crypto Wallet?

For a serious wallet-drain incident, I would look for blockchain investigation professionals or a cryptocurrency tracing firm with experience analyzing wallet activity, transaction histories, and digital evidence.

A firm such as Jim Recovery Team can review the available blockchain information, analyze the unauthorized transfers, reconstruct fund movements, and assess what the evidence may reveal about the path of the cryptocurrency.

The goal isn’t simply to find the first wallet that received the funds. It’s to understand the entire transaction trail, preserve the evidence, and determine what options may exist based on where the cryptocurrency moved.
