The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Monday confirmed 925 civilian deaths in Ukraine since Russia’s February 24 invasion of the nation. This figure includes 75 children and 850 adults.

870 civilians died on Ukrainian-controlled land, and 55 were killed on territory controlled by the “self-proclaimed ‘republics'” of Donetsk and Luhansk. Throughout the conflict, an additional 1,496 civilians have been injured. This includes 99 children.

As in previous updates, the OHCHR stipulates:

[A]ctual figures are considerably higher, especially in Government-controlled territory and especially in recent days, as the receipt of information from some locations where intense hostilities have been going on has been delayed and many reports are still pending corroboration.
Human rights activists have expressed particular concern for Mariupol and Volnovakha in the Donetsk region. Last week, Russian forces reportedly bombed a Mariupol theater clearly marked as a civilian shelter. Reuters released photos of razed homes and businesses in Volnovakha.

The UN closely monitors civilian casualties in Ukraine and releases confirmed numbers multiple times a week.
