Thai police arrested four suspects Thursday in connection with a shooting in a Bangkok mall that killed two and injured five. The suspects are accused of illegally modifying guns and selling them to a 14-year-old boy who then opened fire at a shopping center called Siam Paragon Mall Tuesday.

Yala Police arrested two of the suspects in Yala Province, seizing 209 rounds of blank gun bullets, 33 pieces of cut steel pipe and 2 Krungthai bank account books. A third suspect was arrested later with police seizing two blank guns. The fourth was arrested at his Bangkok home, which also served as a workshop for modifying guns. The man was charged with possession and production of illegal firearms.

According to the Interior Minster of Thailand Anutin Charnvirakul, the government is taking action to improve gun control, including implementing short-term measures, such as suspending the issuance of permits for importing and trading firearms. Anutin also stated that the government would review and amend existing gun control laws to ensure public safety.
