Local police announced Monday that an unknown person launched a grenade at a military recruitment office in the Ukrainian town of Busk, leading to an explosion. No injuries were reported.

Police in the western Lviv region of Ukraine received a report Monday of explosives thrown by an unknown attacker into the side of the Territorial Centre for Manning and Social Support (TСM) building in the town of Busk. The incident did not result in any casualties, but the building was damaged. Police said that law enforcement officers are currently investigating to identify and detain the perpetrator. There is currently no information about the causes or motives of the crime.

This incident is one of numerous attacks on employees and office premises of assembly centers caused by citizens’ dissatisfaction with the centers’ work in recent months. After the adoption of the new law on mobilization rules, representatives of territorial recruitment centers gained the right to use physical pressure against citizens who refused to comply with the law or left the place of service without permission.

A survey conducted by the NGO “Association of Mothers and Wives of Defenders of Ukraine” revealed that the satisfaction level with the work of the Territorial Centres for Recruitment and Social Support is low among military relatives. Out of the respondents, 45 percent were satisfied, 15 percent were partially satisfied, and 20 percent expressed complete dissatisfaction. The study highlighted the need for improved processes and a humane approach to implementing the material and social guarantees provided by the state.
