JURIST Ukraine Chief Correspondent Anna Tymoshenko spoke Thursday with CNN about the current situation in Poltava, Ukraine, where many Ukrainians have arrived after fleeing areas under bombardment.

Tymoshenko said that while things are currently relatively quiet in Poltava, she fears that the area may become a target for Russian bombing. She said that civilians have trust in the Ukrainian authorities who have tried to organize evacuation corridors, but there is no trust in promises from the Russian government.

Tymoshenko said that she and others in Poltava stand ready to meet fleeing civilians and provide them with aide. She said that many people have lost their homes and do not understand why civilians have been targeted.

Please stay tuned to JURIST for the latest breaking news from our Ukrainian law student correspondents.
